When a family member or friend is diagnosed with cancer, it can be a very stressful time. You may be experiencing strong emotions at the moment.

If these emotions are left unchecked, they may influence your behaviour, including how you interact with medical professionals.

No matter how you are feeling, it is good to be aware of your own emotions. This is particularly important before going to a consultation, so you can be mindful of any negative feelings and try to get the most out of the meeting.
